Junior Site Quantity Surveyor

Job Purpose

The incumbent is responsible to manage the contractual relationship between the various parties involved in any particular building project. She/he is also responsible to keep track of any variations or potential variations to the contract that may affect project costs over the course of the contract execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates a complete set of contract documents including but not limited to contract preambles, terms and conditions, bill of quantities, contract drawings and specifications, addenda, etc;
  • Prepares monthly reports and forecasts to review by the Project Manager and/or the Assistant Project Manager for submission to management;
  • Values and submits the approval payments to contractors, sub-contractors, vendors and service providers;
  • Performs periodic site inspections to independently verify the work done in the various contract packages that are executed according to the requirements of the contract, and keeping records of site progress including photography or videography for both in hardcopy and softcopy formats;
  • Liaises with the procurement and cost control teams for the ordering and pricing of materials;
  • Involved in the pre-qualification, selection, and on boarding of contractors, suppliers, vendors and other specialist contractors and service providers.
  • Lead construction payment certification activities as provided for in the construction or procurement contract(s);
  • Assist in the generation and control of project budgets;
  • Other task or ad hoc as assigned by line manager.
  • Assists the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager in administering the contract, providing clarification and assisting in negotiations when necessary, and providing advice on contractual claims or disputes;

Job Requirement

  • Degree in civil engineer, architecture or other related fields;
  • Minimum 02 years of work experience in site quantity surveyor in real estate development or construction industry;
  • Strong cost knowledge pertaining to construction, architectural and engineering design criteria, construction sequencing and detailing, construction materials, methodologies and best practices;
  • Proven good English communication both verbal and written;
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good in analytical skills, sales skill, detail oriented personality and able to work under pressure.
