Phnom Penh, 23 November 2020 – K Mall, the newest shopping and lifestyle hotspot in Veng Sreng, held its ‘topping off’ ceremony on Friday 20 November, with the project well on track to be completed by mid-2021 as planned.

‘Topping off’ is a traditional ritual in the construction industry to celebrate the last beam being placed on top of a large building.

K Mall is the latest development from Cambodian real estate developer, Urbanland, and will house more than 40 shops and restaurants, with an attractive mix of much-loved homegrown brands and international retailers, in the heart of western Phnom Penh’s Veng Sreng district.

K Mall, part of the ambitious KMH Park masterplan, provides the perfect retail climate to appeal to residents in this up and coming neighbourhood, which is undergoing a transformation with the renaming of Veng Sreng Boulevard as Chom Chao Boulevard.

KMH Park is a new masterplan development by Urbanland, a member of the ISI Group, that will offer young and upwardly mobile Cambodians a place to live, work and play in an integrated mixed-use community that includes residences, commercial office, retail, and green spaces in an open-plan development. Improved transport links to this area will put KMH Park and the Mall at the centre of this blossoming community.

In Phase 1, the 6-hectare KMH Park development includes K Mall, 40 shophouses, a football stadium, a leisure park and a 9-storey office block, ISI Tower, which also ‘topped off’ on Friday.

At the heart of KMH Park, K Mall offers three floors of retail delight, with easy access to local favourites such as Lucky Supermarket, Zando, TEN11 and Nata™ Footwear – all fantastic firsts for Veng Sreng. Bargain hunters will be spoilt for choice as Daiso, the Japanese variety store, will also be opening at K Mall.

But K Mall is not just about shopping – it’s also a place to enjoy moments together with friends and family.

Visitors will be able to enjoy their favourite brew when homegrown cafe chain Brown Coffee opens its latest outlet at the mall’s entrance, with local fast food chain Lucky Burger and popular Thai coffee chain Cafe Amazon also opening in the Mall.

Avid movie-goers will get to watch the latest blockbusters in the all-new six-screen Legend Cinema with a Premium Hall and a Kids’ Hall.

“We are thrilled to see that K Mall has achieved close to two-thirds, or around 65%, in commitment for its retail leasing and we expect more leases to be signed in the coming months. Buying into K Mall’s vision and its strategic location are some of the deciding factors for the support received from our retail partners,” said Mr Hok Kang, Managing Director of Urbanland.

“As a landmark project for Urbanland, we have doubled down on our commitment to quality, durability and craftsmanship in the design and construction to create something that we believe will set a new standard for Phnom Penh and bring a whole new experience to shoppers and visitors. We hope our shoppers will enjoy the one-of-a-kind concept, modern architecture, with an exciting tenant mix to cater to the evolving lifestyles of Cambodians.”

Blending contemporary design, K Mall also incorporates generous public spaces in the form of covered plazas and outdoor terraces where community activities such as festival markets, weekend showcases and events can be held. The community mall aims to be an active platform for championing local art and culture, with the potential of providing public art, outdoor cinema screenings and mini concerts all year round.

In line with Urbanland’s focus on people-centred design, customer-friendly amenities include covered walkways, step-free wheelchair access and a parking supply of 700 motorbikes and 300 cars to enhance visitors’ comfort and convenience.

The 40 signature shophouses in KMH Park have already sold out, with buyers attracted by the unique one-of-a-kind architecture and potential for residential and commercial configurations. A naturally lit staircase and spacious design with the ability to lease out to multiple tenants were just some of the special features buyers loved in addition to the dedicated sidewalks.

Owners will begin to move into their new shophouses early next year, while potential tenants interested in being a part of K Mall’s transformation of this exciting neighbourhood are advised to avoid disappointment by contacting Urbanland soon at 099 888 596 or via https://urbanlandasia.com/projects/k-mall for more information.
