Thoughtfully designed to enable people to step into a better way of living, Chankiri Palm Creek raised the bar when it comes to building quality and design standards in Cambodia

Phnom Penh (15 Nov 2021) -- For the 2021 PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards, Urbanland took home seven awards, including the highly sought title, Best Developer for its groundbreaking residential borey development, Chankiri Palm Creek.

With honors such as Best Developer and Best Housing Development, Urbanland was the year’s biggest winner. The developer’s Chankiri Palm Creek project was also named the Best Housing Development (Cambodia & Phnom Penh), Best Housing Architectural Design, Best Housing Landscape Architectural Design, as well as Special Recognition in ESG (CSR) and Special Recognition in Sustainable Design and Construction during the 2021 edition of the awards.

With the intention to create better homes for a new generation of aspirational Cambodians, a team of visionaries at Urbanland led by 38-year-old architect, Hok Kang, CEO and founder of Urbanland Asia Investment Co., Ltd, is transforming the experience of living in a landed home with their new concept launched at the borey.

Based on a 2 years people-centred study into life at home for aspirational Phnom Penh residents, Urbanland conceptualises homes by putting people at the heart of its design. Designed to enable people to step forward to a better way of living, Chankiri Palm Creek’s masterplan emphasizes walkability, featuring a “Grand Walk” that connects all treelined walkways throughout the masterplan to a 4,500 square metre Central Park and many other community-oriented and outdoor amenities.

The same can be said for its homes. Designed to be easily maintained over its entire lifetime, Chankiri home design focuses on lasting quality, minimalist aesthetic, and functionality that centres on natural ventilation, lighting and being surrounded by nature. These homes are flexible and can adapt to homeowners’ needs as their families grow.

“It is indeed a privilege for me to work on a dream project such as this alongside some of the most talented and hardworking individuals in Cambodia. It does take a village to plan, design and build Chankiri according to the vision we set out for.” Hok Kang remarked. “We are certainly on the right track on this exciting journey of designing and building a better living for the many of us.”

This groundbreaking development adds to the list of award-winning projects developed by Urbanland and masterfully designed by HKA & Partners, a local architecture firm and sister company of the company, also founded by Hok Kang.

These new milestones expand on Urbanland's earlier achievements. The editors of the PropertyGuru Property Report magazine awarded Hok Kang the Cambodia Real Estate Personality of the Year award at the 5th PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards last year for his groundbreaking developments. This includes award-winning residential developments Embassy Residences and Embassy Central, Raintree Commerical Office development and Treeline Urban Resort, located in Siem Reap, among many others that have since raised the bar when it comes to building quality and design standards in the country.

The PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards, now in their sixth year, are the most prestigious and sought-after real estate awards in Cambodia. The event is part of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards program, which was founded in 2005. With a professionally run and supervised judging system, the Asia Property Awards is the gold standard in real estate.
